MassDevelopment Biz-M-Power Matching Grant

Verified Status: Closed

MassDevelopment publicized nearly $1.85 million in Biz-M-Power awards to 48 Massachusetts small businesses in February 2026. That's recent enough that a quick search, or an AI-generated answer, will often still show the program as open. The program's own application portal says otherwise: Biz-M-Power is not currently accepting applications, and no reopening date has been announced. FundBug checks the actual application status, not just what shows up in a quick search.

About this program

Biz-M-Power is a MassDevelopment matching grant that awards up to $50,000 to small businesses in low-to-moderate income Massachusetts communities. You'll need 20 percent of the requested amount in hand at the time you apply, a genuine brick-and-mortar location, fewer than 20 full-time-equivalent employees, and under $2.5 million in annual revenue. Past rounds have closed within weeks of opening. MassDevelopment keeps a mailing list for the next round, if you'd rather hear it from them directly too.

Who is eligible?

LMI owner or location, brick-and-mortar, under 20 FTE, under $2.5M revenue, 20% matching funds in hand.

Awards announced February 2026 (from the round that opened for applications in May-June 2025): nearly $1.85 million awarded to 48 businesses, $6,700 to $50,000 each, over an application window of about 33 days. Two recipients were right in Berkshire County: Door Prize LLC in North Adams received $14,583 to improve the acoustics in its restaurant space, and Dandelion Hill Farm in Sheffield received $8,247. Ordinary Main Street businesses, not large employers, funded toward equipment, renovations, and expansion.
